Applique

This is the applique I did for Beth who is part of the FCQ E Quilters.  I love the leaves, I like the flower colors.... I'm not sure about the beaded flower yoyos though.  But, I am done, the block is in the mail.  And, I probably won't applique blocks like this again. And, of course, yesterday I saw a friend at the Wed. Quilters doing a flatter flower that would have also looked good with this.....

While there Debbie showed a quilt she had recently gotten back from a long arm quilter. (Was I about to say a long armer??? Sounds way too alien to use!)  Debbie did a great job with her fabric choices.  This looks so like her!  And, the best part is she is planning on keeping this quilt for herself.

Here's a closeup of the block. I'm sorry you can't see the quilting too.

It's time to make and put the binding on the green, blue and beige mystery quilt.  Also, time to name it....  Do you name your quilts???

Happy quilting all!  Bonnie

  1. Bonnie,

I love the beading on the flowers. It really adds and makes it look so special.

    You did a great job.

  2. I would name Debbie's quilt Hidden Faces because even though it's a basket quilt (I think...what do guys know?), the blocks strike me as faces (with receeding hairlines) covered by upside down triangles. Thus, Hidden Faces.
