Stashbusting Report August

It was a mixed bag of fabric usage in August.  The best news is I actually used more fabric than I acquired.  My motivation to actually quilt on Ruthie was low.  Heck, I have 4 quilts I could have been working on and just one got done.  Sigh.

This doesn't show how much fabric I used more than brought in during the month . . . all of .6 yards. Yep POINT 6.  I'll take it! Just a reminder for those new to this report and my blog.  I only count fabric as used if I've finished a quilt.  Or a project is ready to mail. Or I've given fabric away.  And I keep track of every little piece of fabric except that which goes in the trash as little tiny pieces.  I figure that balances out when I round numbers up like 2.99 to 3 as I did figuring this report.

I don't normally link up my report but Judy Laquidaro does a linky blog every Sunday for those folks who want to report progress every week. So I'm linking up with Patchwork Times today.

A month ago Ruthie was just finished being set up in the new studio.  The furniture hadn't been moved in.  Now my studio is up and functioning.  Half of it is very neat and things are put away.  The other half, not so much.  On the other hand, I don't have as much to put away on the messy side as I did on the clean side.  I need to organize the shelves behind Ruthie and figure out how and where to store a few things that I need close to the longarm.

Here's my sitting area including the dog bed that Raggs uses when he comes to visit.  He is still learning that he can come into the room but he can't go all over it.  Kona doesn't seem to like being there so she visits irregularly.  Pat, on the other hand, visits quite a bit sometimes bringing me lunch.  What a keeper!
This next shot is looking at my desk, my back is to the seating area.  To the right are shelves that need to be organized.  To the left is Ruthie.  If you look closely at the desk you can see my ridiculous electronics -- two laptops and a table.  Friday I had all three up and running and looking back and forth between all three.  Yikes.

That's it for now. I'm on my way to take advantage of JoAnn's 15% off everything coupon.  Need to write a list so I don't go too crazy.

Happy Quilting All!

  1. Just found your blog through Judy's site. I, too, took advantage of Joann's 15% off everything coupon! Happy shopping!

  2. I plan to visit JoAnn's as well. I was in there on Thursday when the 60% off one cut of fabric coupon was in effect AND the really nice quilting fabric wasn't on sale, so I was excited to use the coupon. Only I couldn't find any fabric that I really wanted! Ugh. Oh well.

  4. Your quilting studio looks wonderful! I wish I had enough space in mine for a sitting area like yours. I do sometimes have a similar grouping of electronic devices in my room.
