Stashbusting Report - February

Here's some good news for me:  I used more fabric than I acquired this month.  And, I brought the whole year into the used more category.  YEA!

Now to see if I can continue this wonderful trend.

Yesterday I went to a sewing day at a friend's house.  I figured I could bring one project along with a leader/ender project and focus on getting a lot done on the main project.  Good plan, except I forgot to bring the background fabric for the leader/ender project. It wasn't the end of the world by any means but it did mean I made no project on my OMG which I'd hoped to move forward a little.

I did get 30 units made for my new project:  a dog quilt I am going to donate to MAESSR for a fund raiser.  (For those of you who don't know, I volunteer for Mid-Atlantic English Springer Spaniel Rescue.  Raggs is an official ESS but, honestly, he's a cocker spaniel...)  I am using Atkinson Designs' pattern, Slide Show. It isn't going to be fast and easy but it is going to be wonderful.  Remember the dog fabrics from this post? I've cut most of the fabrics and started sewing yesterday.  Hum, I forgot the bigger squares I was going to include in the 8 x 8" squares.  I need to readdress those as I have some photos being transferred to fabric of springers from the rescue group.

That's it from me today. Time for me to head to the studio.  I'm linking up with Let's Be Social and Needle and Thread Thursday.  Take a look!

Happy Quilting All!

  1. Great start, and it will be a wonderful donation for the shelter. I hope they raise tons of money with it!

  2. I thought I was the only one who left essential items at home: I've done it more times than I care to admit.

Way to go on the Stash Bust!
