So that concludes July in the nick of time! On to my goal for August. January 2014 saw me starting a personal block of the month adventure. I chose the book Christmas Favorites from Art to Heart for my pattern. It is a Christmas quilt with 10 blocks -- some appliquéd and some pieced. I was hum ho for the first four months and then other things started getting in the way. I finished 3 blocks. Fast forward through Christmas 2014 and 2015 to now. I still want another Christmas quilt and I have a great place to hang it, if it ever gets done. So, to help me along my next OMG will be to finish any two blocks. (Hey maybe I'll rush through those and start on some of the other ones too.)
Here's a reminder of the book and a picture of a block all ready to iron and stitch down. So how hard could it be to finish two blocks? Um, er... and I've traced all of the appliquéd designs on fusible web so really, it can't be all that hard, can it? Evidently harder than I think it should be as I have a hard time making up my mind about what fabric to use. Time will tell if I can get cracking on this project again.
I am also in the beginning of a new project that is going to take a lot of work over the next couple of months. Worst yet? It is a secret project. Sorry -- I'll share when it is done.
Since I am using this post as an early Monday Meandering I need to share my goals with you. Here's last week.
July 25, 2016
Quilt and bind the lily piece √
Continue piecing R, W & Blue quilt √
Have a good time shopping and lunching with Kay, Dorothy and JanetStay COOL!√
Nice -- everything has a check mark next to it. And this coming week?
August 1, 2016
Begin to piece secret project “B”
Unpack a couple of more boxes and put things away or stash them in the “staging” shelves
Continue to sew R, W, and B project into rows
Work on a block from Christmas Favorites
On the unpacking front, can I just share with you I am totally frustrated? I can not find any of my good sewing scissors nor my rotary cutters. Pat set up some shelving so I can "stage" my
crap, I mean stuff. My new shelving should be here in 3 weeks or so. I'll be very happy to be able to put it away and hopefully find everything.
So that's it from me today. I'm linking up with Red Letter Quilts, Monday Making and Main Crush Monday. Some of these won't be live until tomorrow but I'll come back and add the links. It's time to get cracking on some of these goals, in particular the secret project.
Happy Quilting All!
