Stashbusting Report -- December

Yippee!
The final statistics have been tallied.  And, wow, I just barely finished in the black!  I used more fabric than I acquired this year! OK, so it was just a bit over 2 yards... that's better than acquiring that much or more.

I worked hard the last few days of the month to get the Red, White and Blue X Block quilt finished.  I had bought the backing fabric for it this month so it was a quick in and out.  The best thing about this finish is it has been a UFO for several years.  Cross that off the UFO list. (but, to be honest I am sure I have to add an unfinished quilt I started this year, sigh!) Photos have to wait for the daylight.  I spent most of today playing in the studio.

My thread usage wasn't as good as last year.  But I did use up a few old Dual Duty threads.  The green spools were Molnycke -- a brand I haven't seen in ages. The little turquoise bits are Magna Glide bobbins that I use on the long arm every once and a while.   You can compare this year's thread use to last year's thread use.

I'm happy to announce I am writing this blog on my new Mac laptop.  It is wonderful having a reliable computer to use.  I'm slowly adding my documents and the like to it.  I will eventually move my music and my photos too.

HAPPY NEW YEARS All!

And Happy Quilting.  Bonnie (haven't moved the info for my signature... must do it asap!)

  1. I'm trying to eliminate my stash of Dual Duty thread, too.

Congratulations on the new Mac. I dearly love mine and would be lost without it.

  2. Congrats on ending the year in the black. Stash reduction of any magnitude should be celebrated. It is not an easy achievement.

  3. Nice work on your completion for the year. I'm thinking a Mac will be my next computer.

  4. I have never considered saving up all the spools I have emptied through the year--that would be really fun to do! Happy New Year!
