Back on Track

Or at least I think I am...
For the last few weeks I don't feel like I've gotten much done in the way of piecing and quilting.  But today I hit the studio mid afternoon and worked on several projects.  I am still somewhat scattered as I'm sewing but it does mean I am making some progress on several things.

This is the beginning of my Throw Me A Curve challenge at Country Piecemakers Guild. The challenge is to used curved piecing somewhere in the quilt.  I'm planning on a fairly small piece, these are 6 1/2" unfinished blocks.  They won't be going together this way.  They may not be going together the way I have planned either.  And, in fact, I may cut them down a bit also.  Time will tell.  It dawned on me the other day that I had to get hopping on this challenge. I've got all next week to work in the studio.  The following week is the quilt show in Maryland and I'll be up there nearly the whole week.  Then, I'll have a week at home before the guild meeting on Saturday.  I hope to have the top completed and the quilting planned in my mind before I go north.  We'll see how I do!

I've also been taking a free embroidery class at my local Bernina dealership.  We've been embroidering on all types of things.  This past week was embroidering on a pair of blue jeans.  What?  Would I ever actually wear a blue jeans with embroidery on the leg?  Not likely.  But I'm pretty sure Sophia would.  She wanted hippos on her shirt so I figure hippos would work on her jeans too.  I need to find another hippo design for her shirt.  That will be happening this coming Tuesday in class.  Plus I need to put the jeans back together.  I'll be seeing her the week I'm in Maryland and can pass these on to her.

Pat and I will be singing a couple of services for Easter starting tonight.  Beyond that we won't be doing anything special.  Hopefully, I'll be able to get some more piecing done.  I'm not doing all that well on my goals list this week.  Hum, can I get anything else checked off in the 4 hours or so I'll have tomorrow afternoon?  I'll keep you posted.

For those who celebrate Easter, I hope your day is joyous.  And for the those who don't may you have a fun filled day tomorrow.

Happy Quilting All!
