Monday Meandering 5 - 22 - 2017

Just a quick post this morning before I head back home.   I can share a pic of my Scrappy Stars quilt that I worked on almost exclusively at retreat.
This shows the rows laid out but not sewn together.  As it got later in the afternoon/evening as I was working on this Saturday I started messing up where the stars were being placed.  (I had an EQ printout of how I wanted the quilt to look.)  When I finished all the rows this is how it would look. (That beige on the side is carpet!)

Um, no, I absolutely do not like those two light aqua squares together.  I fussed around with the layout once I was back at Sharon's house and came up with a new layout and I'm going to add one more star as it seemed bare of stars in the middle.  I'll get a new picture of it once all the rows are sewn together.  But first, I need to drive home.

Goals were almost all achieved last week.

Happy Quilting All! Bonnie

  1. Pretty darn fantastic, Bonnie.
    Love the colors.

  2. Understandable why that took so much of your retreat sewing time!

  3. "Two light aqua squares"... Hmmmmmm! Lol! No chance of me ever spotting what squares you are talking about!! Sew funny! I am sure we are all alike when it comes to our own scrappy layouts!!!

  4. I love your last goal for this week!

Nice job on the quilt. I love scrappy and stars; this quilt having both is perfect.

  5. I no longer trust myself to put quilt tops together at retreats. I always get blocks in the wrong place. If you hadn't told me I'd never know it was not what you planned. Love the random stars.

  6. I always think it's helpful to take a picture before sewing together a quilt top - I always see things in the pic that I don't see in 'real life.' The quilt is so pretty in those colors - congrats on your progress. Thanks for linking to MCM!

  7. I live that quilt pattern, may have to make us one!

  8. One more star would be a good addition. It's a very fun quilt.

I am pleased you've come to visit. I hope you will leave a comment.
