Surprisingly we still have snow on the ground. It's been pretty cold over the last week. The greater DC area often has weather ups and downs during the winter. In fact we've hardly had snow for the last 3 years. I was surprised that temps stayed so cold for nearly a week. I suspect most of the snow will be gone by next weekend because each day is going to be warmer than freezing. There is a chance of more snow next Sunday. Hopefully nothing will come of it!
I was pretty distracted this week so I didn't pay as much attention to my sewing as I usually do. (I also had several books that came in and I wanted to read...) Here's how I did on my goals.
1/5/25
✅Layout the 3.5” rail blocks — most of the rail rows are sewn together
Load and quilt a top - didn’t happen
✅Continue cleaning cutting table — minor progress made
✅Make 2 E quilter blocks for me — done
Start a new top — looked but nothing concrete happened
So all the rows have 12 blocks except the blue that has 13. I'll be removing a block from each of the blue rows and sewing the purples together this week. I hope to get the background fabric cut and sewn to finish it to a top.
1/13/25
Finish 3.5 rail blocks to top stage
Load and quilt a top
Cut out and begin sewing new top
Find something else to work on that strikes my fancy
I was at a loss as to what to put on my new goals list. I'm not sure what I'll choose to add to my goals. I'll probably continue cleaning up the cutting table. Part of that cleaning up is cutting scraps into various sizes with my Accuquilt dies. Eventually I'll need to figure out what I should do with these various sizes!
W/ending 1/12/25. 12 days of January
- 15 minute days/Jan = 7/7 days
- 15 minute days/2024 = 12/2 days
- Success rate = 100%
love the colorful rail blocks. Can't wait to see the finish quilt :)
ReplyDeletesnow on the ground here too - hopefully it will all melt before the end of the week at it will drop into the teens again at night and maybe not even be in the 30's from what the weather guy says - more sewing days I guess
