A week later and our snow and ice hasn't melted at all. It's been below freezing for the whole week -- very unusual for our area. Luckily another big storm skipped us and hit further south. This week the temp is suppose to go above freezing. Hopefully some of the snow will melt but not make black ice on the roads. (I don't ask for much do I?)
I've had a good week with goals.
1/26/26
✅Finish sewing machine block — done.
✅Cut & sew binding on panel quilt — done.
✅Work on Snowman block — I did as much as my hands could deal with at one time.
✅Finish cross stitch zippered bag — done-ish. All the cross stitching is done, next up is outline stitching.
✅Make a few stash dash blocks in r,w,b — 4 new blocks done.
I finished the sewing machine. The 3 spools on the top center have been sewn together. Then I started the "filler" for the space between the spools. I'm pretty happy with the first section. I'm looking forward to finishing the rest of this. I've even got a place to hang it in the sewing room.
Here are the 4 scrap dash blocks made. I'll be making more over the next few weeks until I have enough for a big lap quilt. I started these because I have 4 left over blocks in r,w,b and I wanted to use them. Plus, I like the look of this block and it's pretty easy too.
I haven't been taking photos of the hand work projects. Maybe this week I'll remember to do that. On to this week's goals.
2/2/26
Work on the spools quilt
Work on snowman block
Start a new knitted hat
Work on outline stitching on zippered bag
Make 4 more dash blocks
Mail quilt blocks to MB, Joan, and Many Hands and Many Hearts
You might have guessed I succeeded in maintaining my 15 minutes of sewing this week!
Week ending 2/2/26 33 days of 2026: 33 Of 33 days -- 100%
That's it for tonight. Take a look at the Linky parties I join. Hope you can do some surfing using these to start you off.
Happy Quilting All! Bonnie

Your sewing machine wall hanging is looking cool! I love how the spools of thread are variegated! BTW, I have the same problem sometimes--photos coming out blue. Hmm...
ReplyDeleteYou have so many fun projects in the works. The koala bear quilt is really cute. So you've got 13 months of 100% sewing time! That's really impressive! Stay warm and stitch on.
ReplyDeleteNow I know the humming sound I hear this week came from your machine, hehe. Great projects in the works my friend!
ReplyDeleteSo many awesome things happening there. The koala quilt turned out so sweet. The spools are looking really good surrounding the sewing machine block.
ReplyDeleteso much ice and snow for so many of us and it just isn't normal here - this will last another couple days at least - we might end up with 14 days of snow and ice on the ground which might set a record for our area.
ReplyDeleteLove your spools and sewing machine project! Are the gold and blue stripes going to go all the way around the sewing machine? I'm picturing it that way! The koala baby quilt is adorable - I really like the brown and turquoise combination.
ReplyDeleteThe sewing machine and spools look great together! I had to search hard to see the 'churn dash' in the block on the top left--great experiment!
ReplyDeleteI love that sewing machine and spools quilt. I really like how you are framing the machine and look forward to the finish. Your churn dash blocks are great too. Have fun as your work your to do list this week! Stay warm.
ReplyDeleteI love your projects. I have used that "St Louis" 16 patch a great deal for charity quilts. When the guild group has a lot of fat quarters I have been known to go in and take two colors worth and make these quilts. Latest ones were blue and brown. I was having a lot of trouble cutting before the thumb surgery, so splurged on a 4" Accuquilt die and used it for the cross- cutting as well as the strips. Have fun with it 4 x 5 makes a great size quilt.
ReplyDeleteYour scrap dash is going to be fun. I've been thinking on doing a patriotic churn-dash next. Something very traditional about both of those blocks.
ReplyDeleteAll your blocks are beautiful, but my favorite is the sewing machine block, I love it! Cute baby koala quilt too, fun prints and brown and turquoise are lovely together. Thank you for sharing your work in progress and linking up!
