This past week --- I did quilt a top and got the binding on. Here's what it looked like as just a top. (Scroll to the 2nd picture to see the whole quilt.) Below is a bit of the border. I drew in an idea and then did something different.
When Sharon was down we tried the Sew Simple Pineapple technique. I grabbed two pieces of fabric from the stash and we began. We made all the blocks Saturday afternoon. Before she left for home we found the green to go with it. Sharon put the blocks together. When she happened to lay out the center on the blue carpet at her father's house she realized that was the color we needed for the last border. This is a really cool technique developed by Karin Hellaby. Go to this You Tube video to see how she does it. Or look for her book Sew Simple Pineapple. This is a really fast way to make a quilt. Give it a try.
Instead of posting my Design Wall post this Labor Day I was at my local community parade. My neighbor Jennie is the lion on the Lion Club's float. The Lions Club sponsors the Labor Day parade every year. Pat and I decided to go and enjoy the parade and check out the vendors. It was fun and luckily it didn't rain on us.

Another blogger posted abut the Pineapple block a couple of months ago, but I forgot to mark the post. Thanks for the reminder and the link to the video.
