It was pillow case day at Country Piecemakers quilt group.
We ironed and pinned.
We sewed on our domestic machines.
We used our sergers. Hey, that's me on the far right on my 25 year old serger.
And when all was done we had 362 pillow cases to donate to Conker Cancer. Good job ladies. Rumor has it that at least 100 had been made before the event. Possibly even more. But, what a great feeling of accomplishment.
And, what exactly do 362 pillow cases look like?

Many hands really DOES make light work. Nice job, Piecemakers!
ReplyDeleteI'm curious, Bonnie - do you have a pattern/tutorial for a pillowcase that's your "go-to" when making these? Sawyer told me he wanted a special pillowcase for Christmas and I've seen tons of different ones on different blogs, but I'd welcome some input!! Is a serger a must?
ReplyDeleteBonnie,
ReplyDeleteYour group of ladies look like such a fun group! I wish i could join you. I love get-to-gethers for charity sewing. The pillowcases are so much fun to make!
In stitches,
Roberta
Great job on the pillowcases! My serger goes back to 1991 or so. I use it a couple of times a year to finish seams. Threading it is such a pain!
ReplyDeleteP.S.Thanks for recommending the Circle of Nines book.
