Today retreat starts! Yahoo! I'll be retreating from Monday to Friday early afternoon. I wish it was just a bit closer but we always have such a great time so the travel time is worth it]\. I have way too many projects to work on but we'll see how many I can get done.
Here's what I got done this week. Almost a perfect week.
9/25/23
✅Cut new project for retreat — done
✅Finish sewing secret items…— done
✅Prep Ombre Log Cabin ✔️finish sewing rows together, ✔️cut setting triangles, ✔️repin the numbers on correctly — done
Quilt one of my small quilts or do a machine embroidery embroidery — didn’t even try to do this one!
✅Continue the clean up of the front of the cutting table — not much but some items were dealt with. There are a lot of scraps that still need to be put away or cut up into usable sizes.
10/2/23
Attend the Country Piecemakers retreat
Put Ombre Log Cabin top together
Finish Flower Song blocks and put the top together
Make Happy blocks for Cynthia
Make Wiggle Time top
Make Snoopy top
I've got way more projects than I need but I hope to be able to make a good dent in them. Time will tell.
Remember last week when I couldn't find my Snoopy project? It took a while to find it. There were some holes in my memory -- I didn't put it in a zip lock bag. I put it in a zippered bag. I thought the main fabric was a bright blue. Um... no mostly yellow was showing. Early in the week I found it -- in the plastic bin I thought I had put it in. In a zippered bag and showing yellow fabric and some Snoopy squares.
I did buy more new fabric this week. (I can't believe how much fabric I have purchased recently!) Here's the new green fabric I bought and the fat quarters to go with it. It's going to be a very bright top when finished.
October - November is my time to receive blocks from the Faithful Circle EQuilters. I decided to us Mary Quilts pattern Framed 9 Patches. (You can find the block here.) Mary has a wonderful group of patterns if you are looking for some directions to make a quilt.
I have a slew of triangles I've been cutting while cleaning up the front of the cutting table. I spent a bit of time to find a block pattern that would use 2" finished HSTs. I looked on Quilter's Cache for a basket block and came up with Basket of Chips. This is my first block -- I made it to check out the pattern. I'll be using the triangles as my leader - enders for the next few months or until I get enough for a reasonable size quilt.
I hope you will take some time to visit these Linky Parties to see what quilters are working on these days.
