Before the refinish but with all the stuff moved out for the most part. |
Scaffolding and the ramp -- main way in and out of the attic so we didn't have workers tromping through the house. |
Breaking through the roof to add the windows. |
YIKES! |
Windows are in! |
Insulation going in. |
Wallboards are here and ready to be installed. |
Flooring -- Pat's installing it. |
Bamboo free floating flooring is going in eventually. |
Ruthie the long arm will be set up on this side. To the right will be a sitting area with a couch, table and reading light. The air controlled closet is behind where the couch will be. |
These bookcases are being moved into the new space... but where do I put the "stuff" until that is done? My sewing time may be coming to an end for awhile cause I won't be able to find anything soon. |
But such a nice dilemma to have! The space is fabulous. Can't wait to see it all setup and ready to roll!!
ReplyDeleteThe only thing I can think is stack it up the way you take it off and put a large sign on top to give you a hint. I just redid my room and I rearranged when I put mine back together. I'm still adjusting to the new layout and it's still not finished being organized after 2weeks. Good luck. I can't wait to see more photos.
ReplyDeleteOh my how exciting, I bet you can't wait to get in there. Big rubber made tubs, get 4 or 5 and sort you book shelf stuff into them. How fun to be all organized in the new space.
ReplyDeleteWhat a bright, lovely space! This is going to be one gorgeous studio!
ReplyDeletedo like a gardener double dig.... take the stuff off the first shelf... put it somewhere... then put that shelf in the new space...and take the stuff off the second shelf and put on the shelf in the new space.... then move the now empty second shelf to the new space and put the stuff from the third shelf on the empty shelf in the new space.... get my drift? sure it is not in it's final form but "the work" on the space can continue and you will be movin' forward.
ReplyDeleteNow, question, which way does the wall of windows face?
Fabulous space. I did this a couple of years ago. My advice is to go through it all piece by piece. Get rid of what you know you don't want or need. Then box up and label very thing else as if you were moving to Afganistan. Then when the studio is ready bring the boxes in a couple at a time. It works!
ReplyDeleteI'm so jealous!! Maybe we could build a room over our garage.... hmm, there's an idea!
ReplyDeleteI'd be in that room every day if it was mine - a delightful place to work and to relax. Congratulations!
ReplyDeleteit's going to be fabulous when it's done! I'm so excited for you!
ReplyDeleteOh! Those windows!! What a dream space. So happy for you!! Don't worry about the stuff...you'll need to shop for all new stuff anyways ;)
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous studio! I am sure you will be thrilled when it is finished.
ReplyDeleteCongrats! Looks great so far. I just repainted my studio and it took me about a month to get everything back together. Hang in there and just take it one day at a time. Can't wait for the final pics.
