Design Wall Monday 9-2-13

Have you started blocks for Alycia's Quilts of Valor Big Blowout Block drive? I finally got two made yesterday.  They are so cool.  I was really tickled that I had some star fabric I could put to use.  I know I purchased it to use for QOV.  I really didn't mean that the stripes should be so even it's just that I used 2" strips. (OOOH I love that I can pull strips from my 2" strip drawer.)   More are in the offering.
And below is the second one.  Awesome, again, pulled from the 2" strip drawer.  I'll have to cut more yellow ones but I've got blue covered!

And, I finished a quilt this weekend.  Well, except as I was taking these pictures I realized I hadn't tied the threads off so I'll be doing that some time soon.  I have a box labeled quilt tops where I've stashed some tops that I didn't want to quilt right away. (Hey, quilted tops take so much more room than unquilted!) When Ruthie was set back up I needed to try her out and all the parts of this quilt was stored in the box: top, back and binding.  I have several packages of batting stored so I was set to go.
And while I was outside I took a look at the beans.  Wow! More beans to bring in. That's the perfect amount for dinner for Pat and I. Yum.

Didn't do so well on the Weekly Goals this past week. But there's always this week!

  1. Your QOV blocks are great! The stars and stripes are perfect. And a bonus since the strips were already cut!
