First up the 2014 Row by Row quilt.
I still need to sew the final sections of the sides together. I'm trying to decide whether it needs a dark blue strip between the sides and the center section. I used the dark blue to enlarge the smaller blocks so they were the same size as the peach. But I'm thinking of putting a 2" finished strip between the sections. And, then use the same color as a border. Decisions, decisions. What do you think?
I did pretty well on my goals considering I wasn't spending all that much time up in the studio this week

Row by Row is coming out nice! It inspires me to get to mine one of these days. :)
ReplyDeleteCongrats on accomplishing your goals! I like your Talking Turkey top. In the photo, I prefer the lighter red, but reds are tricky, so you'll need to decide which works best in your lighting. I like how the light edges of the blocks provide nice contrast with the red border, whichever red you end up with.
ReplyDeleteTalking Turkey is stunning. I would use the lighter red for the border and the darker for the binding.
ReplyDeleteI always get stuck on borders and sashing - but I love your quilts!!!
ReplyDeleteI love Talking Turkey! I like both borders, can't wait to see which you choose. I need to get busy on some secret stuff too. ;) It's getting closer...
ReplyDeleteI really like your Talking Turkey quilt! Both borders are nice, but in the pic the red on the right is the one I'm drawn to. It will look great no matter which border you choose! Thanks for linking up to MCM. :)
ReplyDeleteI'd probably add the narrow navy strip between the center and the borders, I think the center needs that stop for the eyes.
ReplyDeleteI like the red on the right too.
