I've Got a Favorite, How About You?

I got quite a bit done in the studio yesterday and now have to make a decision.  Want to help?

Here are three photos of borders for my New Years Day mystery from Planet Patchwork.

Choice one as written in the instructions -- using the background fabric as the bigger border.

Choice two -- using a pink homespun plaid (very little contrast in the plaid...)

Choice three -- using a beige/light tan fabric that happens to have little trees on it.

When I started grabbing strips for this quilt I decided to use up as many of my green strips as I had precut.  Then I started throwing in some floral prints with green in them.  And, eventually I pulled some of the colors from the prints and added bits of those colors.  I added mostly pinks, burgundies and golds if I remember.

I know which one I like best but which do you like?  My favorite is the pink as I think it makes the top sing.  The two others are fine but ho-hum.  The pink is a loosely woven homespun so I will need to do some serious quilting in the borders. And, I think I'll have to piece the borders but that is fine with me.

Let me know what you think.  I won't be working on this again until at least Wednesday, maybe later.

Happy Quilting All!

What a pretty quilt Bonnie. I think I'd go with choice #3. It really grabs me. Have fun!

Wow -- it's crazy how different they each look with the different border! My choice would be between the second and third. The pink really pulls the bolder colors...reds, greens, oranges...out out of the quilt, while the beige/tan really brightens the whole top overall. I'd lean towards the third. But whatever you choose it's going to be beautiful!!!! :)

My choices: 2, 3, 1

The pink complements the center more than the beige and the white almost washes it out.

Pink is my choice.

Okay, so I'm dull, I like the first one as my #1, Pink as #2, I don't like the third one at all. I think it is my monitor colors, it looks yellow / green to me. JMHO. Becky in KCMO

Oh yes, the pink ... I probably would have never, on my own, to have selected the pink as an option (I don't have an artist's eye) ... but I love it ... it brings out the colors in the top, making them come alive.

You are so right. Pink is the best. It really livens up the quilt and looks so warm and sweet.

Pink is always my favorite. But the gold really makes a statement. Hmmmmm.

Not the first, torn between the others, leaning more to the third, but that's just me.

I like #2, but I like bright. The pink does pull out the other reds and pinks you used.

After all those who voted before me, you surely don't need my vote too. But I thought I'd throw in my two cents too. I definitely agree with all those pink votes.
