On Sunday Jenny had invited her group, Young Quilters, to the house. Although there are more members, Aimee and Heidi showed up. They were all working on fun stuff. Aimee was cutting out a quilt using her cephalopod fabric. Ok, that is octupus for the rest of us! Darn, no picture of the octopus fabric. Here she is working on a cut. She's making a Take 5 quilt. Her fabrics are hot pink, cream, and a yellowy green. Should be a great quilt when done.
Heidi had chosen and cut fabrics for a wonderful pineapple quilt. It uses paper piecing. I got to do a fast paper piecing lesson and Heidi was off. I'll be the first to say it is going to be gorgeous. But, honestly Heidi, 45 pieces per block?!! She says she'll just plug away on it and there is no hurry. Her colors are fabulous so this should turn out to be a stunning quilt. I forget what color the outer edge will be but it will be a zinger of a quilt. I can't wait to see more of it!
Tacky Mom that I am, I forgot to take pictures of Jenny. (Perhaps that was for the best as she is recuperating and was wearing down by the time I took the pictures!) Anyway she continues to work on her king size square in a square quilt. She has all the blocks done. And I bet by now she has finished her squaring up of the blocks. She is sewing them in groups of four and then will be sashing with cornerstones. I am sure she plans to use my long arm to do the quilting.
I'm back home so should be posting blogs on a more consistent basis. But, now, it is time to get ready for my quilt group. I'm working on the Bunny Hill block of the month and hand quilting a really old quilt. (well, maybe started 8 to 10 years ago?)
